The corona Virus (COVID-19) pandemic is causing great loss in both human life and the economy of the world. All the industrial sector are shut down. All the flights are canceled, Transportation is close and no one except the medical field people can work. If there is something to take positive in this terrible crisis that is nature. Due to this lockdown, we can inhale clean Air and it will help in the future for breathing well-oxygenated fresh air as well. The atmosphere is retaining it’s quality.
So nowadays human beings are in trouble cause of COVID -19 and nature is smiling.
The World Health Organization (WHO) estimates that about 3 million people die each year from ailments caused by air pollution. And more than 80% of people living in urban areas are exposed to air quality levels that exceed safe limits. The situation is worse in countries having low-income, where 98% of cities fail to meet WHO air quality standards.
Recently we read about “The Himalayas are visible from India for the first time in 30 years”. According to this article, the reason for the visibility of Himalayas is the decreasing air pollution levels in the country because of the coronavirus lockdown imposed from the last month.
In the context of Nepal, the station air quality index shows improvement in air quality in the past few days and the air pollution level is decreasing day by day.
