Annapurna sanctuary trek is the most popular trekking in the glacier basin of Annapurna massif. It is twelve days moderate trekking with maximum altitude 4130m at Annapurna base camp. The sanctuary trek begins from Dhampus covering an off beaten route with less crowd.
Trek to Annapurna sanctuary is a real adventure to explore the tremendous beauty of Annapurna I (8091 m), Machhapuchhre (6977m), Annapurna south (7219 m), Dhaulagiri (8167 m) and many more peaks of western Nepal. The floral and faunal diversity, Gurung culture and hospitality are the natural and cultural aspects to enjoy the trek. The trekking route is spectacular where each days trail let you to explore the rain forest, terraced farming, rivers with huge water mass, suspension bridges and stone paved routes.
The trekking starts from Dhampus and continues to Landruk, Chhomrong, Himalaya and reaches Annapurna base camp. We follow a classic route with less crowd to enjoy the nature. Entire trekking occurs in Annapurna conservation area overwhelmed with Gurung culture. Tea houses are available for night stay. We can also face difficulties in some terrain suffered with landslides as well.
Overall the trekking to Annapurna base camp is moderate which can be easily succeed by beginners. The uphills to Chhomrong and Deurali are always breathtaking for experienced hikers too. Thus, proper preparation and well guidance can worth it.
We will pick up you from Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu, and drop you at the hotel. We will give the briefing of the trek with important information and meet the guide.
After having breakfast, we will drive to Pokhara. We can use either comfortable tourist bus, or local bus, or private car to reach Pokhara. The means of transportation varies based on your customization of trip. We prefer private cars for group treks and tourist buses for solo treks.
After having breakfast, we will drive to Dhampus and start the trek to Landruk. It takes 2 hours to reach Dhampus from Pokhara. Then we will start walking to Landruk. The forest trail, uphills,downhills and small villages are highlights of the Landruk trekking route. We can explore the Himalaya, rhododendron forest and great view of mountains from Landruk.
After having breakfast in Landruk we will start our trekking towards Chhomrong. The adventurous trekking route to Chhomrong passes through forest and small villages. The suspension bridges and wooden bridges are surprisingly amazing and scary. It takes around 7 hours to reach Chhomrong from Landruk. The flowing rivers, spring and amazing view of mountains worth it.
After having breakfast in Chhomrong we will start our trekking to Himalaya. The amazing beauty of greenery, rivers, forest and snow-capped peaks make the journey more exciting. The terraced farming, the long suspension bridges, small villages and interactions are the beauty of the trekking route.
The trekking to Annapurna base camp covers the last ascending trial of Annapurna sanctuary trek. It takes around seven hours to reach the base camp from Himalaya. The amazing view of mountains, the Machhapuchhare base camp and the bank of rivers are the major highlights of the day.
After enjoying the great view of Annapurna ranges with breakfast we will return from the same trial. We will follow the downhill trial and explore the beauty the Annapurna landscape until reaching bamboo.
The trekking from Jhinu danda to bamboo undergoes in rain forest, stone paved trial following uphills and downhills. The beautiful mountains, villages, rivers and hot springs are major highlights of the day. After reaching Jhinu danda we can trek down to hot spirng to have shower and relief from pain in our body. Taking bath is up to choice.
Ghandruk phedi is the last destination of Annapurna base camp trekking. The ABC sanctuary trek completes after reaching Ghandruk phedi. The uphills and downhills to reach Ghandruk is adveturous. We can also visit museums in Ghandruk to know the Gurung culture.
After having breakfast in Ghandruk, we will drive to Pokhara. It takes around three hours to reach Pokhara from Ghandruk. We can visit the Phewa lake, boating based on your desire in Pokhara.
We will return Kathmandu after having breakfast. We will drive on Prithvi highway which takes around 6-7 hours to reach Kathmandu. The bank of Trishuli river, forest, terraced landscape and mini markets are common view we have during the travel.
Depending on your flight time we will drop you to airport for your departure from Nepal.
