Sankhu Nagarkot hiking starts from the paved road of Sankhu. Passing Dhalankot and small newar village you will reach Panchmeshwori temple on the bank of Salinadi river. The river Salinadi is holy river of Hindu where the ancient historical character Chandrawati, wife of King Navaraj has droned throughout a year. According to holy book Shree Swostani, the river has stopped flowing until Chandrawatii remain drowned in the river and start flowing as soon as the lady was taken out from the river.
Passing Panchmeshwori temple we will reach small newar village, paddy field, potato field and newly established settlement from hills to plain land. We will follow uphill and downhills in thin forest. The hottest days can be challenging to cross the trial due to heat radiation.
Sometimes taking rest in shadows and sometimes taking tea breaks or lunch breaks we will reach Nagarkot in around 4 hours.
