Pheriche is the high-altitude settlement at 4371 m above sea level in the Khumbu region of Nepal. It is a popular accommodation site for the Everest Base Camp trek. The moderate to luxury tea houses in Pheriche are trekkers’ choice. Along with resting sites, we can enjoy the mesmerizing beauty of Thamserkhu, Kangtega, Ama Dablam, and many more peaks of the Mahalangur range.
Pheriche is an amazing valley surrounded by snow capped peaks of Mahalagur Himal. Being a high-altitude village, it provides different facilities for trekkers ascending to or descending from EBC trek. The major things we can do in Pheriche are:
Pheriche is a viewpoint for white ranges. A short hike to nearby ridge gives a panoramic view of Amadablam Taboche, Cholatse and Thamserkhu. It takes around an hour to reach the vier point of Pheriche valley.
The Himalayan rescue association aid post is run by volunteer doctors which provides important knowledge on altitude sickness and medical aid to trekkers and climbers. We can also join to altitude talk in the afternoon to get few lessons about altitude mountain sickness.
If we are ascending to base camp of Mount Everest, then acclimatization is very important. We can hike around for two hours and reach the nearest viewpoint. We should spend around an hour at the altitude and return to Pheriche that acclimatizes our body and help to prevent altitude sickness.
We can capture photographs and video graphs of the great mountains around Pheriche valley. The beautiful village, dry pastures, naked hills, glacier, moraines and mountains can be kept as memory through photos and videos.
Pheriche is a Sherpa village. Trekkers can explore the village and know about the Sherpa culture and lifestyle. We can taste local food and talk with local people settling in the village.
Pheriche enroute the EBC trekking. We should follow the trekking route from Lukla to Phakding, Namche, Tengboche, Pangbohe and divert to Pheriche. It takes five days from Lukla on foot. We can also use heli to reach Pheriche.
Both Pheriche and Dingboche are high altitude resting sites in Everest region. Dingboche is the last Sherpa village in Khumbu region while Pheriche is the settlement aimed to give services for trekkers and climbers.
Both of the places are beautiful valleys on different altitudes. The major differences between Pheriche and Dingboche are:

Pheriche is the small settlement between Lobuche and Pangboche. It enroutes base camp of Mount Everest.
