Our 2-week Everest Base Camp trek in November 2023 was an epic journey, and a huge part of that success came down to our incredible guide, Damu (Damodar Mainali). From the moment he met us at the airport, his warmth, professionalism, and knowledge were evident. Damu had a knack for making everyone in our group of six feel instantly comfortable and included. He effortlessly navigated the diverse personalities and backgrounds, fostering a true sense of camaraderie that carried us through the challenging trek. His thorough pre-trek orientation provided us with the confidence and knowledge we needed to tackle the challenges ahead. And even after reaching our goal at Base Camp, Damu was always just a step ahead, anticipating our needs and ensuring our safety and comfort. When I struggled with altitude sickness, Damu was there with practical advice and unwavering encouragement. His presence was a calming constant, making even the most challenging parts of the trek feel manageable. He went extra mile, not only by expertly recommending food choices, supplies, and comfortable tea stall stops along the trek, but also by ensuring everyone's well-being throughout the journey. His explanations of the local culture, history, and landscape were clear, concise, and captivating. No matter how obscure our questions, Damu had an answer, transforming every step of the journey into a fascinating learning experience. Damu wasn't just our guide, he was our friend. His passion for the Himalayas and genuine care for our well-being made the experience truly unforgettable. If you're considering an Everest Base Camp trek, I wholeheartedly recommend booking with Mission Summit Treks & Expedition. Through the passion for mountains, genuine care for the group, I’m pretty sure your journey is not just challenging, but truly enriching.

The EBC Trek may be a wonderful experience, but the whole experience also depends on the guides who accompany you. I was lucky enough to come across Kamal Bhai, Damodar Bhai, DalBahadur Bhai and Kalu Bhai as guides for our trek. Such a wonderful bunch of people who are ready and willing to go out of the line to help you with anything. So professional and yet friendly that I address them as 'Bhai' which means brother. The trip was a grand success and a really fun and emotional one thanks to all the support and organising by these wonderful brothers. I would definitely recommend and opt for Mission Summit Trek and Expedition and if it's any of these guys you're in for a wonderful and unforgettable experience.
